If you launch Rust via a shortcut you’re probably going to be pretty confused next time you launch it because you will find yourself in Experimental. If you want to play the previous version that hasn’t been updated for 6 months (now known as ‘legacy’) you can do so by launching via Steam..If you’re resistant to change and don’t want any part of the new version you can switch to the legacy branch. You can read more about how we’re developing Rust here.

The game crashes every time i start it at the "validating and updating playlist and properties" phase.

I had a disconnect due to power loss and now this keeps happening.

Also i noticed the dumps in the temp folder are rather super large at 6GB a pop.

In no way is this good for the hard drive, and worse yet i can't even play now...

I have tried the "workaround" of disabling network adapters, but that didn't solve it. Haven't tried reinstalling as that's a last measure. This issue did not exist prior to update 2 (Black Ice).

Here is a screenshot of the large dump files: Screenshot of when it freezes/doesn't respond: Ok guys, guess what. I would appreciate if Ubisoft would give me and my buddy Munchkin a thank you for finding another workaround which will 100% work, but they should of course see what the actual issue is as it still creates super large dumps. They are located in these locations: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege\download\Shop Items C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege\download\addons\prod\pc_live01 The files causing the problem are: datapc64_cm_hp_ec_1_addon_1968688455054a13_1 items Cache items Cache Hash It may be the datapc64...

one that is specifically the problem, but i have no need for further testing since i solved the issue for myself.

Thank you, Almighty DF You gave me a light, because I was also about to uninstall the game.

I had already tried disable network adapters, turn off my firewall, Uplay reinstall, open port, open dmz, open UPn P and nothing working for me.

Please ubisoft fix the problem, probable having other people with the same problem.
